CYEN CLIMATE CHANGE WEBSITE LAUNCH 



"Think You Know About Climate Change? ...Think Again!”

 

The information below is for CYEN members, students, teachers, youth-based groups, organisations and clubs, Environmentalists and anyone who has an interest in Climate Change or a 'Green Career'!

 

 

The Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN) brings to you a Website that will change your perspective on Climate Change and mitigating/adapting to it in the Caribbean! 

 

CYEN has undertaken some innovative research work in the field of climate change advocacy and education in four territories of the southern Caribbean (St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada). This work, which was carried out by representatives of the CYEN, is a part of the Caribbean Youth Climate Change Mitigation Project and the results documented on the website: www.cyen.org/climatechange.

 

On Friday 08 July, 2011, at 10:00am, with the support of the Global Environment Facility-Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP) through the office of United Nations Development Programme of Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean States, CYEN WILL BE LAUNCHING THIS WEBSITE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

This LAUCH is entitled "Think you know about climate change? ...Think Again!” and will be held at the United Nations House, Marine Gardens, Hastings, Christ Church, BARBADOS. 

The website is loaded with information about climate change:
- It explains Climate Change and its impact on the Caribbean in a simple and easy to understand way.
- Shows you how we carried out energy audits and how YOU can reduce your energy consumption and help to mitigate climate change,
- Gives you a chance to see what its like to be a GREEN ENTREPRENEUR, and the challenges and rate of success of local and regional businesses that mitigate climate change.
-And much more!

  

All of this and more will be showcased at the WEBSITE LAUNCH ON FRIDAY JULY 8TH 2011 AT 10:00AM AT THE UN HOUSE in BARBADOS. ALL ARE INVITED!!!!
The United Nations Development Program Resident Representative and United Nations Resident Coordinator Michelle Gyles-McDonnough will be speaking at this event and REFRESHMENTS WILL BE SERVED!

CYEN asks that each group, school, organisation or club bring as many people as they can (preferably between 2-5 persons) in a uniform, club shirt or some other form of identifiable clothing. Children are allowed from any age.
